ANSWER ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (AEO)/A.I. Engine Optimization (AEO)/Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

The reasons Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)/A.I. Engine Optimization (AEO)/Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is important include:

  • Increased Visibility - Show up in answers, voice search, and featured snippets on A.I. platforms.
  • Reach More People - Be the trusted answer for potential customers asking questions.
  • Build Credibility - Position your business as an authority in your industry.
  • Drive Qualified Traffic - Attract people who are ready to take action and need answers.
  • Stay Ahead of the Competition - Be visible where traditional Search Engine Optimization (SEO) isn't enough.

ANSWER ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (AEO) is the latest trend in search! Alternatively called A.I. Engine Optimization (AEO) or Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and at times, A.I. Search, AEO/GEO will have the biggest impact in website design since Google introduced their Mobile Friendly standard in 2016! Your website may rank well in Google search results, but is it visible to A.I.? A.I. is quickly changing how people search. Recent surveys have revealed that 42% of people search using an A.I. platform such as ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, etc. More and more people are abandoning traditional search via search engines like Google, Bing, Firefox, Opera, Safari and Yahoo. People are tired of having to sift through Paid Sponsorships on Google! I recently did a search for "web designers in near me", and 6 out of 10 search results on the first page of Google search results are Paid Sponsorships! Oh, and those were after Google's own A.I. Overview (AIO) which dominates the top on the page. There was only room for 3 generic (unpaid) search results on that page! Why is this bad? Studies have shown that if you don't show up in the first or second page of Google search results, people won't find you! Paid results aren't necessarily quality results. You still have to click through the links to see if they actually have the answer you are looking for. I have even been a part of this growing A.I. search trend myself recently. The A.I. Overviews (AIO) that A.I.'s answer engines provide end users sift through the search results for you without you having to click through a link to search for the answer you are looking for. It saves the end user a lot of time as a result. It filters out paid sponsorship results (which may have inferior answers) and gives you the actual answer to your question from the most informed and authoritative sources. As I mentioned earlier, even Google has joined this new trend by listing their Gemini-based AIO's at the top of their search engine results.
